The Early Bird Gets a Clock

Seth has always been our early bird which doesn't work well in a family of night owls. The door to his room screetches loudly when he opens it, and Dad intentionally doesn't fix it so we know when Seth gets up in the morning. We usually hear the screetch about 6:00-6:15. We decided to put a clock in Seth's room and explain to him that if the first number is less than a 7, it is still the middle of the night... he needs to go back to bed :-) So far so good, he waited until after 7 to get up this morning. He's really excited about his clock. He can look at his books if the middle of the night isn't over yet.
