Big Sister Ingenuity

This afternoon Mom walked down the hall and was a little surprised to see Seth working hard cleaning Lydia's room. Lydia was telling him what to do, and he was doing it quickly. Mom didn't say anything though and kept walking. A few minutes later she overheard Lydia say, "Don't sit down. If you sit down or stop working, you lose your badge." Mom decided to see what was happening.

Lydia had won a little fake badge last fall, but it didn't mean anything to her and she threw it in a drawer. She pulled it out this afternoon and promised Seth he could wear it as long as he was working hard on her room. He was so proud of his badge.

Checking Out My School for 2010

Today was parent's day again at Seth's preschool. Once a month, a parent attends with the child. Since we live in a small community, it will be my preschool with the same teacher the year after next. Mom thought she'd let me tag along for the day. I got to play with the kids, sit in circle time, and have a yummy lunch at the end. I even carried my Dora backpack to hang on the hook like Seth does. By the way, we got about eight more inches of snow this week. Will it ever end???

The Return of the Blog with a Cute Pedicure

Mom's morning sickness has brought the blog to a sudden stop for a couple reasons. First, the view from the recliner in the living room where Mom sits sick isn't too exciting to photograph. Second, even if it were, Mom wouldn't have the energy to go find the camera.

However, last night Mom got some great morning sickness medicine. She took the first pill this morning and feels like a new person.

So what do you think she did on her first day feeling decent again??? Check out Morgan's adorable pedicure. It wouldn't fall in the top 100 of things that needed to be done, but it was fun and made Morgan happy. Lydia wants her toe nails painted to match tomorrow. We're hoping the morning sickness medicine keeps working...

Weekend Away

Even though our vacation is only about three weeks ago, we, mostly Mom, really wanted to get away this weekend. We've had weeks of extreme cold, snow, school closings, and in Mom's case, morning sickness. Even though we went to a nearby town that wasn't any warmer, it was fun to spend a night in a hotel, visit with friends, the botanical conservatory, the science center, eat out, and go shopping. We all had fun.

I got too excited!

When Mom told me it was bathtime at the hotel and was adjusting the water, I got so excited I jumped face first into the tub behind her. I realized as soon as I hit the water that I was still wearing my clothes.

Shhhh! I have a secret.....

you won't tell anyone will you??? I'm going to be a big sister :-) I think I look older already. Check out the picture of me holding pictures of little brother or sister. Pretty cute baby huh... of course not as cute as me though. Big brother says he wants another sister who looks like me and is good like me. He wants to name her Serena. He won't consider that it could be a boy. Big sister also wants a girl. She wants to name her Annabelle. If it's a boy, she likes the name Joey. Our house will be full of fun with a baby, two-year old, four-year old, and seven-year old.

Dad's Home Haircuts

Dad cut Seth's hair this evening. Dad has cut his own hair for almost ten years now. Seth has had a few haircuts out, but Dad usually cuts Seth's also. Seth normally hates every minute of it.

Lydia's Seventh Birthday Party With Friends

Lydia had her friends over this evening for her seventh birthday party. They had a great time. They ate pizza, Hannah Montanna Cake, and ice cream. They decorated foam picture frames and bookmarks and each got pictures of the group to put inside and dressed up as princesses and ran through the house screaming as Seth pretended to be a monster chasing them. It was a fun night.

Just when Seth thought life couldn't get any worse...

Mom had to replace his tough guy Thomas the Train sheet set on his bed with the Princess Collection sheet set with ruffley pink blanket.... He and Morgan have a nasty stomach virus. He's covered both top and bottom bunks and has been sick so much this afternoon Mom can't wash sheets fast enough. What is Lydia doing as they suffer? She's playing the Wii.... She takes great pride in the fact that they always get sick together and she never gets their stuff. She says it's because she washes her hands better than they do. Her theory may be partially true, but we're hoping she's not next. Her birthday party with friends is this Friday.
