Lydia is playing soccer for the first time this year. She enjoys it. The action shots turned out blurry. We may change the pictures after another game.

First Day of First Grade

She LOVED it!

Blankie Wash Day

Seth and Morgan both have special blankets that they sleep with and love. This morning the blankets both needed cleaned, and mom put in the washer in spite of protests. After I left the laundry room, I came back and found both kids hanging on the washer door watching their blankets. After the blankets dried, I threw them to Seth and Morgan and took a picture of them snuggling with their warm, good smelling blankies

Visit With Great-Uncle Samuel At Art Show

This afternoon we received an unexpected call from Great-Uncle Samuel saying he was doing an art show not far from our house. We went to the art show for a couple hours and had a great time.

It wasn't as bad as it looks...

Seth ran into a chair and got a small bump on his head. He insists on getting a bandaid whenever he has any injury no matter how small. He chose his bandaid without any help, and he of course picked out the biggest one in the cabinet. Mom didn't think much about it until one of Lydia's friends dropped by. Seth answered the door like this, and she fell over laughing without saying a word.

First Grade Open House

Tonight we went to meet Lydia's teacher and see her classroom. She was excited to get to choose her desk. Since some of her kindergarten friends are in her class, she will be sitting with them. She also got put her things in her locker and desk. She can't wait until the first day of school Monday which will also be the day of her first ever soccer game.

The Climber

Having survived the one-year-old days of two other children, we had the misguided belief that since Morgan was a fairly easy baby, we would have smooth sailing until she entered the terrible two's. We had never faced the challenge of a persistant climber. Morgan climbs everything. The first picture is of her eating at her table and chairs. Since she insists on trying to climb out of her high chair, she eats at her table unless someone is close to her the entire time she eats in the high chair. This is Morgan on the laundry basket. Seth thought it would be fun to hide there while playing hide and go seek, and Morgan climbed on top. Seth was very upset by this.
This is Morgan in her grocery cart. She climbs inside, and when Mom's not looking, Seth takes her for a ride in it through the house.
This is her in the middle of Seth's train table.

We find her on top of the kitchen table, end tables, beds, etc. all the time.

SLOW Progress

Steve and I were talking this afternoon about how things seem to be going so much slower with this house than our last house. I was working this evening on my school work and looked outside at Steve landscaping and remembered what's slowing us down :-)

Visit From Nana, Uncle Michael, and Dessa

Nana, Uncle Michael, and Dessa come to visit us for the weekend. We went to Maumee Bay State Park on Saturday. The day at the beach was fun for everyone. We also enjoyed playing board games and just relaxing at the house.

School Supply Shopping

The kids start school in a couple weeks, and we finished buying supplies this evening. Lydia is ready for first grade with Hannah Montana gym shoes, Kleenex, Trapper, etc. Seth was in more of a superhero mood for preschool and chose a batman backpack and spidey folder. Lydia was happy to lay out and pose with all her supplies, but Seth had little interest in having his picture taken with Kleenex and wet wipes.

On the Run

I tried to get a picture of Morgan smiling in her new room. We finished painting and decorating it first. We still have a long way to go. However, Morgan can only think of one thing anymore.. running... I'm not sure why Seth was on his head..

Landscaping in Progress

We finally got our house last weekend. This weekend was spent primarily on landscaping. They are supposed to plant grass in a couple weeks. Morgan and Seth are enjoying doing some digging of their own in the new sandbox Seth got for his birthday last month but hasn't been able to use.
