Cheerleading Camp

Lydia spent everyday this week after school at cheerleading camp. All the little cheerleaders performed at half-time of the high school basketball game this evening. Lydia did a good job. Morgan was inspired to love cheerleading as well. She came home and practiced with Lydia.

Weekend in Indianapolis

We spent the weekend in Indianapolis with Nana, Michael, and Dessa celebrating Nana's upcoming birthday and visiting the Indianapolis Children's Museum. We had a great time!

Seth saw the dinosaurs he had been so excited to see!

Lydia and Morgan walked the runway at the Barbie fashion exhibit.

Nana and the kids all enjoyed the Carousel.
Morgan could have spent the entire day at the sand tables.
Seth dreamed of being a racecar driver.
Dessa and Lydia worked on spelling everyone's names.
Morgan liked the water table and LOVED the little yellow ducks.
Sydney hung out with Mom and occasionally rode in the stroller.
We had a good time! Dad was with us to, but he took the group picture.

5 Months Old

I'm five months old today. I went to the doctor this morning, and he said I'm doing well. I weigh 16 pounds. Mom forgot to ask how long I am. She'll get that next month. I can sit but I don't have the best balance and still fall a lot. Dad built my crib recently so I'm sleeping in it some now. Don't worry though... I'm only a few feet away from Mom and Dad :-) I love to laugh at my sisters and brother. I hate it when people cough or sneeze around me. If Dad coughs, I can instantly go from happy to screaming hysterically. Mom and Dad have never seen anything like it. I was sleeping through the night, but I have a cold and am currenlty getting up at night again. updated to add: Mom tried to get me to smile for the picture, but she didn't have much luck. Tonight she learned why. I ended my five month birthday by throwing up. I am sick. I am not enjoying this.

Excited About Dinosaurs

This weekend we're planning to meet Nana, Uncle Michael, and Dessa in Indianapolis for a visit. Seth couldn't be more excited. He knows we're going to the Indianapolis Children's Museum, and they have a neat dinosaur exhibit. He went when he was younger, but he doesn't remember much about it. He spent today making pictures to bring with him for everyone.

We're going for 4 straight days at the doctor's office...

Morgan quit using her left hand last week. She keeps it in a fist. It's not painful to her, and she'll open it if you ask her to. However, she doesn't normally open it unless asked. We've taken her to doctors the past couple days, and the doctors both said that there is no injury, no signs of nerve damage, and they don't know why she's doing it. The doctor today seemed to think it's a phase she'll just stop doing. He thought maybe she had a minor injury at some point and got in the habit of doing it to avoid pain.

Mom was relieved to hear that the doctor didn't think it is serious (although it still seems odd.) Mom laid down with Morgan as soon as they got home from the doctor for Morgan's nap, and Seth came in and said his ear hurt. Mom said she'd give him medicine in a minute. When she came out, he said it had popped and stuff came out. His ear was covered in gooey stuff and it appears that his eardrum burst. Seth has an appointment first thing in the morning.

Sydney has her 5 month check-up Wednesday morning. We hope to avoid doctors for a while after that!

We've Created a Potty Trained Monster :-)

Morgan had a very rough morning with her potty training, but she did great for the rest of the day. She didn't have any accidents after 1:00 and earned lots of stickers for the potty chart she made. When Seth was in the bathroom this afternoon, Mom overheard Morgan in the hall yelling at Seth that she is big, wears undies, and he had to GET OUT of the bathroom NOW.

Morgan's New Year's Resolution

Morgan has been in and out of diapers for about eight months now. She decided :-) that the new year would be a great time to give them up cold turkey. She's actually fairly uncooperative this morning, but mom is determined that she is not going back to diapers.

Lydia's Eighth Birthday Party With Friends

The New Year's Blues

This morning at breakfast Seth seemed really down. He told mom and dad he wished it wasn't the new year, and he didn't like it at all. It's not like Seth to be sad, and it was especially not like Seth on cinnamon roll breakfast day :-) It's a treat for him to have his favorite breakfast. Mom and Dad both thought there was something really bothering him and asked him why he was so upset about the new year. He then explained that he heard that "Sponge Bob Goes Down the Drain" and "Sponge Bob Round Pants" would no longer be shown after 2009. We're not sure whether this is true, but poor Seth may have a tough year.
