Flu Vaccine Day
Today I had my flu shot at the local bank. Yes, I said bank. We live out in the country and for some reason the locals have decided shots in banks is the way to go. Big brother and sister had flu mists. Notice I said mists. That means while I had a needle poked in my little leg, all they had to do was take a deep breath. I handled it like a champ. They gave me a Dora sticker and I finished crying before I even left the room. This is me a few minutes later hanging out with big Sis in her room.
On the other hand, it was hard on big brother. All he had to do was take a breath, but he cried all the way home and was still crying when this picture was taken. He scared all the poor children coming into the bank for their flu mists after him. He's now taking a long nap, and we're hoping he'll recover soon :-) Next year I'll be 2 and can have the mist instead of the shot also.

Work-at-Home Mom's Cheap Childcare
The Week of Halloween
Halloween isn't a day, it's a week around here. We did Trick-or-Treat at the Zoo Sunday; we had Trick-or-Treat at one nursing home where Dad works yesterday; we have another Trick-or-Treat Thursday at the other nursing home where Dad works. We will also be doing the town Trick-or-Treat Thursday. When you add preparations for school class parties and Halloween parade, it makes a very busy week. Here is a picture of Halloween Day 2. We had a princess who decided she didn't want to be a princess. If you look at Sunday's post, you will also see that Superman is now Spiderman. Seth's costume fell apart after wearing it one day Sunday (we bought quality :-)), and we had this dress-up costume he was able to wear.

Our New Legos Hobby
Dad enjoyed Legos as a child, and grandma and grandpa saved all of his Legos. They gave them to us a few months ago, and we've spent a lot of time playing with them lately. It has become a nightly event at our house. We play in the basement, and Morgan plays with baby dolls or the slide while everyone else does Legos.

Halloween at the Toledo Zoo
Today we spent the afternoon at the Toledo Zoo. They had trick-or-treating, games, and lots of fun decorations for Halloween. Hannah Montana, SuperMan, and Cinderella had a great time.

Fall in Full Swing
The word for the month around here seems to be pumpkin. We've gone on a hayride to find "perfect" pumpkins, bought pumpkins at a road-side veggie stand, roasted pumpkin seeds, made pumpkin bread a couple times, carved pumpkins, and will be making a pumpkin pie soon. Mom and Dad are ready for a new month :-)

Weekend at General Butler State Park in Kentucky
This weekend we stayed at a cabin at General Butler State Park in Kentucky with Nana, Dessa, and Uncle Michael. We celebrated Micheal and Dessa's birthdays. Check out the cake with a circuit board side for Michael and flowers side for Dessa...
We went for a (short) hike through the woods. This is Morgan on the observation deck.

The kids loved the trainride.
Morgan played in leaves for the first time.
We played Settlers of Catan. Lydia and all the grown-ups play every time we get together. Dessa was the winner this weekend.
It was a fun visit.

Morgan's Mornings Out
A couple mornings a week Seth is at preschool, Lydia is at school, and Morgan spends time with her babysitter so Mom can work. Morgan and her babysitter usually go to the park or the library. They then come home and play. Mom has her office set-up in the basement. She hides and doesn't make a sound while she works. Morgan will be happier with her babysitter if she doesn't know Mom is downstairs. The babysitter text messages Mom throughout the morning (even from upstairs) and keeps Mom up on everything Morgan does. Mom didn't ask for the regular updates (It's 2.25 hours total) , but it's fun to hear what she's doing. Last week Morgan's babysitter decided to start taking her to storytime at the local library. Her craft for the week is above.... We think she has artistic talent :-) This is a picture of her in the car on the way to drop off Seth and Lydia. She likes to have her backpack to hold also. She's still in her PJ's with blankie this morning and looks still sleepy.
